METU Disability Support Coordination Unit (DSCU) aims to develop a range of alternative systems to enable students with different needs to participate in activities while at METU, while maintaining the high standards that the university is renowned for.

METU has been developing support for disabled students over a number of years through the cooperation and support of many. For instance, ideas for new ways of organizing systems or providing learning environments have come from a foreign applicant enquiring about possibilities, a professor with a disabled relative and a departmental secretary explaining how a process worked.
